When I got home from work yesterday, Wednesday, Hunter came sauntering over to me and says, "dad says you should feel my head because its hot." Well, Justin was right, Hunter was running a low grade fever, had sick eyes and just wanted to sit on the couch and read books. He didnt eat his supper and when we got to home depot he just laid his head on the side of the cart saying he wanted to go home and go to bed. so we finished up at home depot and had been in the car about 3 minutes when hunter yells, "mommy! my barf is coming!" and of course it is the one time in a long time that there isnt some sort of anything in the back seat of justins truck to catch the coming barfs. awesome. now, last time hunter barfted (maybe 6 months ago) I was lying in bed with him and the only thing to catch it at that time was my hands...in hindsight, not the best container to catch vomit it so i was really hoping i wouldnt have to drive the rest of the way home with cupped hands full of barf. luckily, justin had a plastic bag in the back seat pocket and we managed to catch most of the heaving in the bags with just minor splatter on the pants, car seat and truck seat. Additonally it was just our luck that we happened to be near a gas station so that the vomit bag could be quickly discarded and those scratchy blue towels could be used to wipe the chunks off hunters face. we managed to make it the remaining 5 miles home without incidence and hunter promptly went to bed with no additonal problems.
woohoo!
now the 2nd half of this story is about justin and judah and their response to the barfing episode...
Judah: very concerned about hunters well being and asked him about 430 million times in the 5 miles trip home if he was "better? hunter better? barfs gone hunter? better?"
Justin: well, justin has a very sensitive sense of smell and does not tolerate bodily fluids well so when i asked how he was doing (just to make sure he wasnt going to be the 2nd barfer in the car) he just smiled and said, "fine, i am a master mouth breather." lets hope hunters next barfing episode does not occur when justin is the only one home or i do fear mouth breathing will not be enough to keep him from barfing too.
H was feeling better this morning, but was exhausted this evening and in bed over an hour before normal...lets hope tomorrow he's back to his normal self.
Oh, and in other news...we are still waiting to hear back on the house. blast.
I dealt with more barf than was conscionable this weekend... Logan barfed ON me... twice... on Friday, and ~10 more times between Saturday and Sunday... Caleb barfed... ON me once, and then proceeded to hold my head 2 inches from his face while he napped. Which resulted in ME barfing for 6 hours Sunday night, and Kevin finally brought up the rear with 6 hours on Tuesday night. We are now, lysoled, laundered, and rid of it! Hope ya'll are done too!
